YaBB is an Open Source community, free forum software system (bulletin board, message board) written in Perl. While there is a ported version made for MySQL and FreePHP called YaBB SE, the main version is written in Perl and must be installed in that manner.
For the most part YaBB , an acronym for "Yet Another Bulletin Board", is just that. Another Bulletin Board System. It does have a very nice and user friendly interface but its lack of portability may leave some people out in the cold if they have to change web hosts. Additional there are several security issues and bugs that require you to install various patches and deal directly with the source code.
Overall, if you’re comfortable with Perl Source Code and don't plan to migrate to a Non-Perl Hosting Provider then YaBB would be great for you.
